Practice — Migration Consulting

Migration off your legacy platform.
Done properly. No drama.

Splunk licensing too expensive. LogRhythm too brittle. Datadog costs spiraling. Algolia charging for relevance you can build yourself. We have executed these migrations before — and we know exactly what breaks if you skip the planning phase.

01 — Supported Origins

We know the platform you are leaving.

Every migration is different — but the source platform shapes everything: the data model, the query logic, the detection rules, and the gaps nobody tells you about until you are mid-cutover. We have been inside all of these.

// LEGACY SIEM

Security & Log Management

Licensing costs, rigid parser requirements, and brittle correlation rules that nobody wants to touch. We migrate your detection content, log pipelines, and dashboards into Elastic SIEM — with detection rules that actually fire correctly.

Splunk LogRhythm IBM QRadar Sumo Logic ArcSight Microsoft Sentinel
// OBSERVABILITY

APM, Metrics & Infrastructure

Per-host pricing that scales faster than your infrastructure, dashboards your engineers avoid, and an agent footprint nobody fully understands. We migrate your traces, metrics, and log pipelines into Elastic Observability with a clean architecture your team owns.

Datadog SolarWinds Dynatrace New Relic AppDynamics Splunk Observability
// ENTERPRISE SEARCH

Search & Discovery Platforms

Managed platform fees for relevance you could tune yourself, index schemas locked to SaaS abstractions, and limited control over ranking logic. We migrate your index architecture, relevance configuration, and query layer into Elasticsearch — performant and yours.

02 — How a Migration Works

Six phases. Every one documented.

We do not skip phases to ship faster. The technical migration is only one part — stakeholder enablement, runbook creation, and validation gates are built into the plan from the start.

01 Discover

Discovery & Inventory

We map every data source, pipeline, alert rule, dashboard, and integration in your current environment. Nothing is assumed — we document what is actually running, not what the vendor told you was running.

02 Design

Target Architecture Design

We design the Elastic cluster architecture, index strategy, ILM policy, shard topology, and ingestion pipeline layout for your specific data volumes, retention requirements, and query patterns.

03 Convert

Content Conversion

Detection rules, saved searches, dashboards, and queries are translated from the source platform’s syntax into Elastic equivalents. We use proven conversion tooling customized for your environment — not manual rewrites.

04 Validate

Parallel Running & Validation

Before cutover, both systems run in parallel. We validate alert parity, data fidelity, and dashboard accuracy against defined acceptance criteria. Cutover only happens when the gate passes.

05 Cutover

Cutover & Stabilisation

We manage the production cutover, monitor cluster health in the critical first period, and address any issues that surface under real load. We stay engaged through stabilisation — not just until go-live.

06 Handoff

Team Enablement & Handoff

Your engineering and stakeholder teams are trained on the new environment. Every pipeline, rule, and dashboard is documented. We hand off capability — not a dependency on us.

03 — How We Engage

Two ways in. Both scoped.

Not every migration starts the same. Some teams know exactly what they want moved and need an engineer to do it. Others need a clear technical assessment before committing to a full project.

// ADVISORY — “we don’t know what we don’t know”

Migration Advisory

We spend time inside your current environment — auditing your source platform, data volumes, detection content, and integration dependencies. We come back with a complete migration plan: phased, costed, and honest about risk.

  • Full source platform audit & dependency inventory
  • Target architecture recommendation with rationale
  • Phase-by-phase migration plan with timeline estimate
  • Written findings — yours to take to procurement or leadership

Migration Delivery

A named senior engineer executes the migration end-to-end — content conversion, pipeline build, parallel validation, production cutover, and team handoff. Scoped, bounded, documented. You work with the engineer doing the work.

  • Named senior engineer assigned before work begins
  • Full six-phase execution — technical and enablement
  • Proven conversion tooling customized for your environment
  • Runbooks, documentation, and team training at handoff

04 — How We Work

From first message to cutover.
Four steps. No filler.

You describe the platform you are leaving and what you need to preserve. A senior engineer responds within one business day and work starts once the scope is signed.

01 You

Tell us your source platform

Tell us what you are running, what you are paying, and what is driving the move. Email or form. No template required.

02 Us — 1 day

We scope the migration

A senior engineer assesses your environment and comes back within one business day with a clear read on complexity, timeline, and what a full migration would actually involve.

03 Together

We agree on the plan

We align on phases, deliverables, named engineer, and timeline before any work begins. Signed scope — no moving targets.

04 Us — in production

We execute & hand off

The engineer migrates, validates, documents, and trains your team. You leave with a production Elastic environment and the knowledge to run it — no black box.

05 — Why DinaBridge for Migration

We have done this before. Dozens of times.

Migration projects fail when the technical team skips discovery, underestimates content conversion, or hands off before the cluster is stable. We have seen every failure mode — because we have cleaned up after them.

01 We know the source platform We have been inside Splunk, LogRhythm, Datadog, SolarWinds, and Algolia environments. We know where the data hides, which rules are actually firing, and which dashboards nobody looks at.
02 Proven conversion tooling We do not manually rewrite detection rules or queries. We use specialized conversion methodologies built from real migration projects — customized for your source format and target environment.
03 Not just the technical pieces A migration plan that only covers infrastructure fails at go-live when the engineering team does not know the new system. Our plans include stakeholder enablement, runbook creation, and formal training.
04 Parallel validation before cutover We run source and target in parallel and validate against defined acceptance criteria. Cutover happens when the data, alerts, and dashboards are verified — not on an arbitrary go-live date.
05 One senior engineer throughout The engineer who scopes the migration runs it. You are never handed off to a junior to execute a plan a senior wrote. Same person, start to finish.
06 Zero lock-in at handoff Every pipeline, rule, dashboard, and runbook is documented and transferred. We build your team’s capability to own the environment — not a reason to keep billing you.
Start Your Migration

Tell us what you are leaving.

Describe the platform, roughly how much data you are moving, and what is driving the decision. A senior engineer responds within one business day with an honest technical read — no sales pitch, no proposal template.
